4/10/2023 0 Comments Battletech heavy metal dateThey are different completely and need to be made that way. I am not even a big clan player, mainly because every pc game so far has never done them justice for their back story. Give them a perk so it makes them always equivalent to 4 chevrons of movement. These would be very hard to hit, not based on speed like a mech but based on their tiny size. Seven classic ‘Mechs from BATTLETECH’s 35-year legacy make their triumphant return along with the first completely new ‘Mech. Heavy Metal takes ‘Mech action to the next level with a brand new Flashpoint Mini-Campaign. And damage output equal to 5 x small laser, SRM 2 (one shot) x 5 and of course claw damage x 5. New methods of destruction await as eight devastating weapons systems are now available to wreak havoc like never before. I would even settle for a dumbed down version of the elementals with them having 5 elementals with HP equal to 5 x PPC damage. They do damage almost equal to a poorly armed locust. These completely thru the inner sphere for a loop. The hardest part for me is that every single pc game ever done about clan mechs officially (not mods) refuses to put one of the most important things that is the essence of the clan. Then thru hard work in the campaign move upto having Clan Mechs, etc. Hunchback 2 and Marauder clan variants come to mind. You could start a clan game as a Solahma pilot, meaning inner sphere mechs with clan gear. I would love to see a clan experience system that rewards pilots that make solo kills and punishes or does not rewards at all concentrated fire shared kills. With the AI from within your own clan bidding against you for each mission. I would love to finally see an actual bidding system for what we currently see as contracts. Instead of using cbills you would be using honor or prestige based on how little materials you used to complete missions. Releasing some serious clan history and immersion. Then dlc of both crusader and warden clans. Today during PDXCON, the devs behind BattleTech: Heavy Metal revealed there would be a new content update coming in November. If I was running this I would have a good generic game of clan pre invasion. So we either get a clan only game building upto the invasion of 3050 with 3 separate dlc's. With Heavy Metal HBS have crash coursed the timeline to past the 3050 Clan Invasion era. In case Battletech hasn't been sufficiently successful and the DLCs haven't accrued enough profit over time (that's how Games as Service works), then I don't think we can expect more Battletech.I assume Battletech 2. Once the secret project is out of the door in 2-3 years, the pre-production people may move to develop a sequel to Battletech, or an entirely different game depending on what Paradox is willing to give money to and what the bosses at HBS (Mitch and Jordan) is best for the studio. Once the secret project goes into full production (which is probably after Heavy Metal) then the entirety of HBS will be commited to getting that game out of the door. What do you think Mike McCain has been doing the last 1½ years, for example?Īfter Battletech released last year, parts of the team moved on to the new "secret" project that's been in pre-production for a while, while a smaller part of the staff has worked on the 3 DLCs for Battletech. They commit some of their workforce to pre-production, while the rest (the majority) work on the actual production of the major game that's slated for a release. The release date has repeatedly slipped, originally being forecast for.
